A Lesson in Beginning Your Own Grant Consulting Career

raining_money_womanWant to begin a grant consulting career but still rusty when it comes to writing grants and clueless about the beginning steps in getting started as a consultant?  You'll want to read more.

Last Wednesday, I presented a complimentary training call “Work From Home, Do Good and Make Money.” In case you missed it, here’s the audio link.

We had almost 150 folks registered for the call and I appreciate all your favorable comments. It really is gratifying trying to help you create the kind of lifestyle and career you crave. Thank you for allowing me that opportunity.

On the call, you’ll hear about how I took a segment of my nonprofit responsibilities and then turned that into my own independent career. Many of you are wondering if it’s your time to do the same thing.

There are basically five steps I took to make the plunge into this career that I’m now enjoying in my eleventh year. I have never been happier and I want to encourage you to join me! But I understand your hesitation so I thought I’d share some “mini-lessons” with you from my GRANTcoach training program to help ease you into a transition.

Here’s Lesson #1:

There are basically three issues that an entrepreneur (that’s you!) needs to have crystal clear vision on and must deal with in growing a successful business. Those issues are money, time and effort.

First, be practical with your money. Don’t expect clients to come flocking to you with their checkbooks open the moment you fling open your doors for business. I advise to keep whatever current job you have and to work on your business as a side project until you feel comfortable enough to transition fully. If you currently don’t have employment, working on your consulting career will be your job. Dedicate yourself to it.

This brings me to my second point, time. Successful entrepreneurs give themselves time for something new to take off. This seems to be a problem for some folks and they never even gave themselves a chance at success because of unrealistic expectations. Don’t be a victim.

And what about your effort? Will you be truly committed and unwavering in your quest for a financially satisfying and freedom-filled life that a consultant enjoys? It doesn’t come without effort on your part.

If you are dedicated to working through these common issues and ready for the positive change that consulting brings, then it’s time to do something about it and let my GRANTcoach training program help you get started.  GRANTcoach will teach you the step-by-step process of grant writing and how to turn that skill into a lucrative career. It worked for me, it’s worked for others and it can work for you.

Just a quick reminder that now through next Wednesday, January 25th, I’m offering $100 off this best-selling training program. Simply use GC100 at checkout.

Have a great weekend and stay tuned for more consulting lessons coming up.
